The European Green Deal Investment Plan, also referred to as the Sustainable Europe Investment Plan, adopted by the European Commission in January 2020 is paramount to creating a better future. To help the EU deliver on the European Green Deal, the European Commission has launched an ambitious legislative program that includes mandatory human rights and environmental due diligence legislation, the Taxonomy Regulation, the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism and the revised Non-Financial Reporting Directive (NFRD). This paper is a response to the call for a European regulation for the provision of ESG data and ratings published jointly by the Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF) and Autoriteit Financiële Markten (AFM) on December 15, 2020 and outlines recommendations share our perspective as a stakeholder of the sustainability-related service industry.
