Levi Strauss eyes net zero emissions by 2050 under new sustainability goals

October 6, 2022 EcoVadis EN

Levi Strauss has vowed to achieve net-zero emissions of greenhouse gases by no later than 2050 under a new set of sustainability goals.

Levi Strauss & Co. made the commitment as part of its newly published 2021 Sustainability report.

The 16 goals – several new while others pre-existing – cover focus areas including greenhouse gas emissions, water stewardship, circular economy and new business models, worker well-being in the supply chain, diversity, equity and inclusion and social issue advocacy.

“These goals are crucial to the future of our business,” says Chip Bergh, chief executive officer and president of Levi Strauss & Co. “By doubling down on sustainability and ESG reporting at Levi Strauss & Co, we are creating a more resilient business while also signalling to our full range of stakeholders, including our consumers, that we are committed to being transparent about our progress on ESG matters and working to create the scale necessary to address the most pressing challenges of our time.”
