More than 100 UK food sector organisations including Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Asda have pledged to halve food waste by 2030. Firms signed up to the pledge following the Step Up to the Plate  event last month at London’s Victoria Albert Museum, where organisations were asked take action on measuring and reducing food waste. Approximately 10.2m tonnes of food and drink is wasted annually from the farm gate, according to a 2018 report by WRAP.
