German Study: Supplier Performance

April 5, 2019

Since 2007, EcoVadis has evaluated the sustainability performance of suppliers in more than 150 purchasing categories and in more than 110 countries. Here, 21 sustainability criteria are analyzed. EcoVadis has established itself as a leading rating agency for sustainability services in the market.

More than 130 multinational companies from all sectors work together with EcoVadis to review the sustainability performance of their supply chain.
This study is based on data from over 30,000 evaluations carried out by EcoVadis in the period from 2012 to 2015, allowing a comprehensive analysis.

The focus of this study is an analysis of the CSR performance of German companies in international comparison to companies from BRICS states, OECD states, the USA and China. Main trends in the areas of environment, social affairs and corporate ethics emerge and a relation to the developmental stages of the countries could be established.

Furthermore, it can be seen that the CSR performance of companies depends to a considerable extent on the legal development or the structural environment, therefore, certain "CSR regulations" were also considered in this study.
