EcoVadis is glad to welcome Specialty chemicals firm Clariant joining Together for Sustainability, the chemical industry initiative aiming at improving sustainability practices within the chemical industry supply chains.

Clariant is the latest firm to sign up to ‘Together for Sustainability’ (TfS), an initiative launched in 2011, joining AkzoNobel, BASF, Bayer, Evonik Industries, Henkel, Lanxess and Solvay.

According to its members, this collaborative approach is an ideal platform for building more sustainable supply chains, particularly by sharing results. By jointly operating global supplier assessments and audit programs through independent experts, the industry avoids the need for each of the members to conduct their own programs.

TfS has partnered since its launch in 2013 with EcoVadis: EcoVadis core solution combines a cloud based platform with data validation services, resulting in reliable and easy to read sustainability scorecards. For this reason it is being increasingly selected by collaborative initiatives such as TfS.

In a press release on 27/3/2014 Clariant’s head of group procurement services Norbert Merklein said: « Joining the TfS initiative, Clariant confirms the commitment to sustainability in procurement and to further improve quality standards in our industry supply chain ». « With TfS, we provide a platform to enhance our supplier selection process, and to guarantee supply and supplier risk management. »

This latest development confirms the strong momentum of TfS, to drive lasting CSR performance improvements in supply chain.
