EcoVadis Medals and Badges Program 2024

If you are looking for the upcoming changes to our medals program, you’ve come to the right place. In 2024, we will be introducing a few changes to our medals program to ensure that we remain aligned to the changing regulatory landscape and the evolving role of sustainability in business, while also maintaining our high standards and protecting against increasing instances of greenwashing in the market. We will continue to award top performers while also recognizing companies that are getting started on their sustainability journey.

The EcoVadis Medals Program recognizes eligible companies that have completed the EcoVadis assessment process and demonstrated a relatively strong management system that addresses sustainability criteria, as outlined in the EcoVadis methodology.

EcoVadis Medal Levels

EcoVadis medals will be awarded to companies in the top 35 percentile across all EcoVadis rated customers. Below are the updated medal levels:

Calculation of EcoVadis Medals

From 2024 onward, medals will be awarded on the basis of percentile thresholds, rather than the previously used score range for each medal level. The percentile rank of a company is calculated at the time of scorecard publication and appears at the top of the online scorecard. The percentile compares a company’s performance with all rated companies in our database over the previous 12 months.

What do EcoVadis Medals & Badges mean?

The EcoVadis medal or badge is an acknowledgement of achievement relative to other assessed companies across the EcoVadis database.

An earned medal or badge does not mean a company has no room for improvement nor any potential weaknesses in their sustainability practices. It serves as an indicator of positive intent as assessed companies strive to improve their sustainability management performance and drive impact.

An EcoVadis medal or badge is NOT an endorsement of a company nor its products/services, and it does not indicate that the company’s products are specifically sustainable or more sustainable than another company’s products.

The EcoVadis medal or badge, as well as the EcoVadis logo, may not be placed on any product or used by an entity (eg: subsidiary) which has not been assessed.
