Not yet in force, the new Dutch regulation requires companies to investigate whether their goods or services have been produced utilizing child labor. If, following an investigation, there is a reasonable suspicion that goods or services came about with the use of child labor, a company must set out a plan of action to address the issues. The Act also imposes a reporting obligation – companies will need to file a statement that they have exercised an appropriate level of supply chain due diligence to prevent child labor.
