EcoVadis Medals and Badges: Recognizing our Customers’ Achievements

What do EcoVadis Medals and Badges mean?

EcoVadis Medals and Badges recognize eligible companies that have completed the EcoVadis assessment process and demonstrated a relatively strong management system that addresses sustainability criteria, as outlined in the EcoVadis methodology

An EcoVadis medal or badge is an acknowledgement of achievement relative to other assessed companies across the EcoVadis database.

An EcoVadis medal or badge is NOT a certification or an endorsement of a company or its products or services, and it does not indicate that the company’s products or services are specifically sustainable or more sustainable than another company’s products or services.

An earned medal or badge does not mean that a company has no room for improvement or any potential weaknesses in their sustainability business practices. It serves as an indicator of positive intent as assessed companies strive to improve their sustainability management performance and drive impact.

What are the different EcoVadis Medals and Badges?

Note: There may be companies with a score of 34 or above that do not earn a badge or medal, based on other eligibility criteria (including 360° Watch).

EcoVadis Medals

EcoVadis medals are awarded to the top 35% of companies assessed by EcoVadis:

Medals are awarded based on the percentile rank of a company which is calculated at the time of scorecard publication. It compares a company’s performance with all rated companies in our database over the previous 12 months. The percentile rank is calculated across all companies in all industries, not per industry.

Platinum - Top 1% (99+ percentile)

Gold - Top 5% (95+ percentile)

Silver - Top 15% (85+ percentile)

Bronze - Top 35% (65+ percentile)

To be eligible for a medal, a company must achieve a minimum score of 30 in each of the four themes:

Environment

Ethics

Labor & Human
Rights

Sustainable
Procurement

The detailed eligibility criteria for medals including those related to 360° Watch findings can be found here.

EcoVadis Badges

EcoVadis badges are awarded to companies based on certain score requirements:

Committed: A minimum score of 45 (representing ‘Good’ performance in the EcoVadis methodology)

Fast Mover: A score between 34-44 with a minimum 6-point improvement compared to the previous assessment in an 18-month period

Note: Companies that earn an EcoVadis medal are not eligible for an EcoVadis badge.

The detailed eligibility criteria for badges including those related to 360° Watch findings can be found here.

Are all companies eligible for EcoVadis Medals and Badges?

Companies doing business in specific industries may not be eligible for EcoVadis medals or badges. Currently, these include but are not limited to the manufacturing of tobacco products, weapons and ammunition manufacturing, coal or lignite mining, and companies with substantial revenue from coal sources and/or producing a substantial portion of coal-based power generation. These guidelines are subject to periodic review.

How can companies use their EcoVadis Medals and Badges?
