EcoVadis Named Conference Partner and Official Sponsor of COP21, Providing Sustainability Ratings of Event Suppliers

Paris, France — EcoVadis, provider of supplier sustainability ratings for global supply chains, been selected as an official conference partner as well as an official sponsor for COP21, the United Nations conference on climate change taking place in Paris from 30 November to 11 December, 2015.

For the past eight years, EcoVadis has been driving improvements in greenhouse gas emissions, energy use and environmental and climate policy in tens of thousands of companies worldwide through its corporate social responsibility (CSR) ratings service and scorecards. As part of this partnership, EcoVadis will participate in COP21 in two ways:

First, EcoVadis will host a panel discussion entitled “Driving Global CO2 Reductions Through Sustainable Supply Chain” which will explore issues including: What is the impact of Sustainable Procurement on Climate Change abatement; How can SME’s be engaged; How to move from Risk Management to Value Creation and Innovation. Participants include heads of procurement and sustainability from leading companies including NS (Netherlands railway), AirFrance/KLM, Schneider Electric. The event will take place on December 4, 15h45 to 17h15, Room 5 at the Paris-Le Bourget site.

Second, EcoVadis has been called on to help improve the sustainability and CSR footprint of the COP21 event itself. The COP21 event will engage over 50,000 attendees in over 1 million square meters of conference and exhibit space, requiring support from an extensive network of 3rd party suppliers. EcoVadis is providing to COP21 pro-bono access to its platform to assess the suppliers of COP21 and measure their performance on Corporate Social Responsibility.
