New York, USA & Paris, France — EcoVadis is pleased to announce a workshop co-organized by the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA), the Sustainable Development Fund (SDGF), and the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) with the generous support of EcoVadis.
The workshop, “Business Leading the Way: The SDGs as a Tool for Sustainability and Growth,” will take place on July 13, 2017 from 8am to 6pm at the United Nations Headquarters in New York City during the UN High Level Political Forum (HLPF), the global platform for following up and reviewing the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
This workshop will offer hands-on sessions for candid discussions, direct networking, and training opportunities in integrating SDGs into sustainability strategies and supply chain practices. Discussions will address best practices, lessons learned, and relevant tools in incorporating the SDGs into existing reporting and evaluation ratings, standards, indexes, and methodologies. Participants from companies and governments will be invited to present their progress, achievements, and challenges in using the SDGs as a tool for sustainability, leadership, partnership, and growth.
The one-day workshop will also aim to engage leaders in making the business case that embracing the SDGs more robustly could be the most important decision if a company wants to remain relevant and competitive.
This event presents a unique opportunity to network with senior government officials, UN representatives, private sector actors and industry leaders, international financial institutions, academia, and other non-state representatives advancing the SDGs.
More information on the workshop, including a detailed agenda, supporting documentation, registration procedures, and logistics guidelines to access the United Nations Headquarters in NYC can be accessed on the event website.
