[Stanford Business School] Supply Chain Sustainability as a Driver for Resilience and Growth

December 3, 2020

Rather than abandoning their commitment to sustainability during the pandemic, companies continue to embrace it. In fact, for many the pandemic serves as a wake up call to the importance of preparing for other challenges, such as climate change and social inequality.

EcoVadis has found that firms are increasingly interested in mitigating supply chain risks and investing more in ESG initiatives. Due to the pandemic, companies are also identifying new ways to access information remotely to perform factory audits while avoiding unnecessary travel. While large corporations have improved their overall sustainability performance in recent years, they still have an opportunity to improve their value chain performance by helping their suppliers to better manage sustainability and diversity in their own operations.
