EcoVadis and Givewith have become the first Supporters of the Sustainable Procurement Pledge (SPP), making financial donations to accelerate its mission.

Dusseldorf (Germany), April 21, 2022: The Sustainable Procurement Pledge (SPP) announces two leading companies in the sustainability ecosystem have become the first sponsors of the SPP, committing to a financial donation to support the movement’s growing impact across the globe.

EcoVadis, the world’s largest and most trusted provider of business sustainability ratings, and Givewith, a SaaS company that delivers a unique sales and procurement differentiator in the form of curated Social Impact programs, have joined the SPP’s recently launched Supporter Program, helping to empower more procurement professionals with expert knowledge to implement lasting change.

Sustainability is at the top of many companies’ agendas. Awareness is growing on the impact procurement has with purchasing decisions and collaborative approaches to improve sustainability initiatives across global supply chains. Nevertheless, more awareness is needed and gaps in knowledge and empowerment need to be closed to turn procurement into a force for people, planet and profit.

EcoVadis and Givewith have been part of the SPP journey since the non-profit organization was launched in 2021. Now, EcoVadis and Givewith have extended their commitment by making financial donations that will help grow the community’s size and reach, as well as enrich the engagement and support programs.

“EcoVadis and SPP share a vision of leveraging the power of procurement to integrate sustainability across the world’s value chains and make business a force for positive impact at global scale. EcoVadis has, since SPP’s founding, been an ardent advocate of their work to build the community, amplify the voice, and empower the people who will lead this transition,” said EcoVadis Co-Founder and Co-CEO Pierre-Francois Thaler. “We are very proud to become an official Supporter and provide this financial contribution to help SPP accelerate their mission, and the growth of this passionate and positive community.”

Givewith was also an early supporter of SPP. Givewith’s Founder & CEO, Paul Polizzotto, adds: “SPP’s purpose is closely aligned to ours. We both want to impact sustainability in global supply chains through the power of purchasing decisions and we are happy about the collaborative friendship our organizations have built over the past year. To facilitate SPP’s mission, we are pleased to provide the first funding to the team.”

“We are very grateful to receive this financial support from EcoVadis and Givewith. It not only shows their strong commitment towards sustainable procurement but is also a recognition of the SPP mission and vision – as an independent non-profit organization – to accelerate and drive action on sustainable procurement. They are helping us to accelerate and build their market for their solutions. No individual person and no organization will tackle the global procurement challenges on sustainability alone. Only together we can drive change,” says Oliver Hurrey, Head of Fundraising at SPP.

Through the SPP Supporter Program, organizations and companies are asked to make donations to SPP to support its expansion and growth, driving the strategic pillars of EMPOWER & EQUIP and ENABLE LEADERSHIP in sustainable procurement.
