EcoVadis Earns ISO 27001 Certification for Information Security Management

NEW YORK and PARIS – EcoVadis, the leading platform for corporate social responsibility (CSR) ratings for global supply chains, announced today that it has achieved ISO/IEC 27001:2013 (ISO 27001) certification for information security management systems (ISMS). The certification is the most widely recognized and prestigious standard for information security management.

ISO 27001 helps organizations manage the security of information assets, including financial and third-party information, and helps ensure that risk, governance, and compliance practices meet the most rigid standards. PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) awarded EcoVadis the certification after completion of a rigorous third-party audit of its ISMS and related business processes. EcoVadis’ ISO 27001 certification follows successful completion of an ISAE 3000 type 2 audit.

“EcoVadis is acutely aware of the vital need to maintain the highest standard for securing the data our customers are entrusting us with in creating and delivering our sustainability ratings,” said Frederic Trinel, co-CEO of EcoVadis. “With this achievement of ISO 27001 certification our customers and stakeholders can be confident in our commitment to secure and protect their data and that of their suppliers, as it demonstrates our adherence to best practices and processes for information security management.”

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) jointly publish the ISO/IEC 27001:2013 standard, the most widely recognized among the ISO 27000 standard series for information security. Organizations may achieve certification upon successful completion of a formal audit by an independent and accredited certification body. In 2014, there were only 161 certificates registered in France and 664 certificates registered in the United States.

“This certification validates EcoVadis’ expertise in information security management and our commitment to the highest level of security throughout the company,” said Frederic Trinel. “Our commitment to continuous improvement in information security standards supports our goal to protect all stakeholders’ data in this evolving landscape of information security threats.”

EcoVadis received ISO certificate number e0382119, which can be verified on the  PwC Certifications B.V. website by searching for “EcoVadis”.
