EcoVadis has been nominated by a panel of experts to the "Companies" category of the 14th annual German Sustainability Award (DNP) for 2022. Administered by the German Federal Government in cooperation with experts derived from industry, research and civil society, the German Sustainability Award is recognised internationally as the most prestigious accolade of its kind in Europe, honouring those who contribute most tangibly to the sustainable transformation of economies and societies.
Düsseldorf/Paris, July 29, 2021
Awarded annually since 2008, the German Sustainability Award is the most comprehensive and largest prize of its kind in Europe, recognizing pioneers of sustainability in business. Following a detailed review, the team of experts at the German Sustainability Award Foundation determined to nominate EcoVadis to the "Companies" category of the 2022 Award.
"Our foundation has commissioned a team of experts to research particularly good examples and hereby nominates EcoVadis for the German Sustainability Award for Companies for its valuable contribution to increasing sustainability performance in supply chains via the largest and most internationally scaled supplier assessment platform, including support with audits and in implementing reforms." - DNP
The tumultuous events of 2020 served only to consolidate sustainability atop the corporate agenda. The disruption to global supply chains affected by the COVID-19 pandemic illustrated vividly the importance of integrating sustainability into procurement practices in order to effectively build resilience, mitigate risk and manage crises. Across the world, therefore, companies are placing sustainability at the front and center of their "rebuilding" strategies.
Over the past 13 years, EcoVadis has made it its mission to support companies with reliable sustainability ratings and to align their sourcing practices and supply chains in a sustainable manner. We believe that EcoVadis, through its global network of over 75,000 companies, is playing a critical role in accelerating the shift to more sustainable business practices worldwide.
"At EcoVadis, we have always envisioned a global marketplace where Sustainability Intelligence influences every business decision and helps improve the economy, the planet we depend on, and people's lives. We are very pleased and proud that the German Sustainability Award Foundation's nomination recognizes our commitment and that of our customers, and underscores the importance of sustainable procurement and sustainable supply chains to businesses, societies and our future." Tanja Reilly, Senior Business Development D-A-CH
The DNP focuses on transformational areas where there is particularly strong pressure for action, notably: Climate, Supply Chain, Biodiversity, Resources and Society. These fields are derived from the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations' Agenda 2030 and the priorities established under the German Government's sustainability strategy.
"We are grateful, proud and of course very pleased about the nomination as recognition of the mission and work that our employees in Germany and around the world implement on a daily basis. However, sustainability, and in particular sustainability in procurement and supply chain, are topics that no company can manage alone. Therefore, this nomination and our thanks go to our customers and the more than 75,000 companies in the EcoVadis network that work with us to improve their own sustainability performance and that of their suppliers, increasing positive impacts." Matthias Münzing, Regional Sales Director D-A-CH
The winners of the 14th German Sustainability Award will be announced during the award ceremony on December 3, 2021.
