Making an Impact at EcoVadis and Beyond

We are pleased to announce the promotion of Nicole Sherwin to Chief Impact Officer (CIO). Nicole’s diverse contributions at EcoVadis include: Sustainability Analyst, managing Global-500 accounts as Customer Success Manager, spearheading key geographic expansion of our frontline team in the UK & Asia and leading the global customer success function as SVP Customer Success. Serving most recently as SVP of Executive Customer Advisory & Strategy, and maintaining the responsibilities of that role, Nicole is a natural choice to lead on our Impact strategy thanks to her passion for systems-thinking, customer-centricity, and results-driven mindset.

As a purpose-driven company, we believe in having “the best of us lead the rest of us.” Nicole is inspired by both her colleagues and customers and energized by collective and diverse thinking. Furthermore, Nicole advocates for solutions that unlock pathways for transformative change.

“Collaboration is essential to drive the change needed to achieve our purpose as a company, and we know that the "whole is greater than the sum of its parts" but individuals matter. Everyone's voice and everyone's ideas matter - businesses, societies and governments are made up of individuals. Maintaining openness and curiosity to listen is key on this journey to find the sweet spot where a just and regenerative approach can emerge and flourish in abundance.”  said Nicole Sherwin, EcoVadis Chief Impact Officer.

“I am humbled and honored to step in as Chief Impact Officer and deeply admire the strong foundations that Valérie Busser-Touchon and the Impact team have established over the past 3 years. It is a privilege to be passed the baton, and I look forward to expanding the team’s engagement and driving positive change even further.”

As Chief Impact Officer, Nicole is responsible for implementing best-in-class sustainability practices internally, ensuring our business strategy is aligned with our company purpose, influencing our product and services roadmap and being the company’s voice on purpose and sustainability. She will continue her work leading the EcoVadis customer advisory community, and continue to broaden the reach of our sector initiatives. In addition, she will take over the orchestration of our Purpose Committee, which includes employee representatives and external stakeholders responsible for overseeing the company’s progress toward our four core purpose objectives:

1) Enable the greatest number of companies to continuously improve their business practices and contribute to creating a regenerative and equitable economy,

2) Deliver independent, trusted, and actionable sustainability ratings and insights through methodology excellence,

3) Cultivate an inclusive learning environment for our people, providing meaningful work and empowering future generations of sustainability practitioners, and

4) Foster collective action within our ecosystem to accelerate the transition to a sustainable world.

"We're grateful to see Nicole Sherwin step up and take on this essential role as Chief Impact Officer," said Pierre Francois Thaler, co-CEO of EcoVadis. "Since she began her journey with us 13 years ago, Nicole has been a powerful change agent for our company, employees, customers and the broader ecosystem that is working to make business a force for positive sustainable change."

Congratulations, Nicole – you’re an inspiration for all of us!

Note: The Purpose Committee will publish an annual Purpose Report on the progress we’ve made on our four core purpose objectives. Look for our first edition, set to publish soon!
