Improving sustainability is imperative to companies around the world that are setting aggressive emission-reduction targets but can often feel like an uphill battle. Out of the 2,000 largest global public and private companies by revenue, 37% have committed to achieving net zero emissions—yet according to disclosed data, 50% continue to increase emissions, 33% are not cutting emissions quickly enough and 18% are on track to reach net zero by 2050.
The Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Protocol, created by the World Resources Institute and the World Business Council for Sustainable Development, is the global standard for determining corporate GHG emissions.
