BBC builds on plastics pledge with new sustainability strategy

November 14, 2018 EcoVadis

The BBC has unveiled a new sustainability strategy, which sets out commitments to achieve zero waste to landfill and source 100% renewable energy, with the broadcaster also revealing it has cut out more than 500,000 pieces of single-use plastics since April 2018.

EcoVadis's insight:

Bravo to BBC for taking such sustainable initiatives. It’s paramount to dispose of single-use plastics properly. Every person who selects single-use products has the obligation to make sure these items are recycled or disposed of in a trash can and kept out of the environment. Regulations specifically aimed at limiting damage to the environment have forced companies to consider their impact on the environment. As public awareness regarding sustainability has grown, companies have faced increasing pressure to adopt sustainable policies.
