Insights From Global Supply Chain Ratings 2017-2021 
 
In its sixth edition, the Sustainability Risk and Performance Index: Insights from Global Supply Chain Ratings examines the sustainability performance of more than 53,000 companies assessed by EcoVadis during the period 2017-2021 and provides critical insights into sustainability trends across diverse regions and industries.
Delving into an unrivaled, comprehensive dataset comprising in excess of 83,000 ratings, the report incorporates an analysis of sustainability performance by theme, region and industry division.
The report shows that companies across sizes, industries and geographies have significantly improved their sustainability management practices over the past five years. Global average scores reached 49.2 in 2021, up by 1.7 points from 47.5 in 2020. This represents a doubling of the 0.9-point improvement observed from 2019 to 2020.
In addition, the Deep-Dive section of this report sheds light on companies’ readiness for HRDD requirements. It highlights that there are significant performance gaps on how companies are addressing these issues internally versus in their supply chains and indicates that suppliers have to turn their HRDD aspirations into action. .
