Garment industry coalition aims to develop purchasing standards

A coalition of Asian textile manufacturers has announced it will develop purchasing standards to protect against an imbalance of power between buyers and suppliers.

Triggered by unfair treatment of textile and garment suppliers during Covid, including order cancellations and refusals to pay, the Manufacturers Payment and Delivery Terms initiative aims to instil common best practices.
