Textile innovator Spinnova has joined the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) in a commitment to support the initiative’s 10 principles which centre on protecting human rights, eliminating unfair labour, conserving the natural world and preventing corruption.
The Finnish firm is one of a growing number of textile recycling specialists promoting circularity in the apparel sector by scaling the availability of its ‘sustainable’ textile fibre.
“Our sustainable fibre innovation supports several of the [UN’s] Sustainable Development Goals, and committing to the compact’s principles on a concrete level comes naturally to us,” said Spinnova’s CEO and co-founder, Janne Poranen.
