Welcome to the 9th edition of The Global Supply Chain Sustainability Risk and Performance Index, covering 49,000 ratings conducted in 2024 and 159,000 since 2020. This dataset, one of the most comprehensive of its kind, provides a window into the sustainability maturity of nearly 89,000 companies across more than 250 industries and 150 countries.
This year’s Index arrives at a pivotal time for global business. Geopolitical conflict, regulatory divergence and growing skepticism around ESG have created new pressures and a widening gap between those scaling back and those doubling down. Across the EcoVadis network, we’re seeing a quiet but decisive shift as companies embrace sustainability to build resilience and create long-term value amid disruption.
This report analyzes performance trends across four core sustainability themes – Environment, Labor & Human Rights, Ethics and Sustainable Procurement – to show how companies are managing risk and making progress across their value chains. It also takes a closer look at the gap between first-time and multi-rating performance, helping procurement teams benchmark maturity and track improvement over time.
This edition includes:
- Regional profiles exploring sustainability risk and performance across Europe, North America, Latin America, Asia-Pacific, and Africa & the Middle East
- Deeper analysis of first-rating baselines versus progress among companies with multiple ratings
- Theme-specific spotlights with industry and country-level risk and performance data, and key indicators driving improvement
Together, these insights offer a clear view of where progress is happening and where work remains to build sustainable, resilient and equitable supply chains.
