Four Reasons to Join EcoVadis

A successful employee value proposition (EVP) captures what sets EcoVadis apart from other employers and provides candidates with authentic insights into why it’s such a great place to work.

Crafting a compelling EVP is an ongoing process and regular reviews are needed to ensure that it remains relevant and effective with input from stakeholders at every stage of the employee journey. In October 2024, we gathered and analyzed employee feedback through surveys and regional focus groups to understand what aspects of our offerings resonate with colleagues.

These insights steered us in refreshing our EVP in key areas, particularly emphasizing our purpose and detailing our approach to compensation, benefits and rewards. The feedback also underscored the importance of updating information on our work environment, culture and values, while highlighting the avenues for personal growth and career advancement at EcoVadis.

 

 

A strong EVP is key to attracting and retaining top talent, particularly in the sustainability and technology sectors. By clearly communicating company benefits, an EVP can boost employee satisfaction and engagement, leading to improved retention rates.

Developing an EVP does come with challenges, however, as it may oversimplify complex topics. For example, our research showed that ‘Grow your career’ was interpreted differently by some employees. This process has been an opportunity to give further context as career advancement is not limited to promotions but also growing into the role by gaining new skills, expertise and confidence.

The pace of information consumption from social media presents another challenge as this can limit the depth of each message. Listing location-specific benefits and various initiatives from our employee resource groups or elaborating on EcoVadis mentorship programs and advanced training courses may not suit a global audience watching a brief video during their daily commute or browsing while watching television.

In both scenarios, transparency with candidates, employees, and managers regarding such nuances reinforces the authenticity of our EVP and employer brand.
